Ethiopia’s Omo Valley has been a unique remote land flourishing in indigenous tradition and culture, until relatively recent times. For thousands of years, this territory has been a center of human migration, spanning Sudan, Ethiopia, and Kenya. Some 16 distinct ethnic groups occupy the borders between these countries. This young Suri tribal member stands amongst the fields of sorghum, an ancient grain, and their main staple.
