Modern Slavery

Running the Vessel

Southeast Asia

A fishing vessel demands constant labor: hauling nets, handling lines, sorting the catch, maintaining equipment and preparing for the next haul. For workers trapped in forced labor, the work can continue around the clock, with little rest and no control over when the day ends. The vessel keeps moving because they do.
