India

At a young age this child decided to liberate himself of all material belongings in order to dedicate his life to being a sadhu or a holy man in India. He’s like the “living embodiment” of a Hindu god. The fact that he regards himself as a living temple is wondrous to me. His whole life is dedicated to being a form of refuge for others. Giving is a virtue, not co-dependent giving, but giving beyond oneself, with no expectation. The Sanskrit word for it is Seva. He lives as a walking temple, and those who come into contact with him can give alms in exchange for merit.
