The girl’s silk garment is an ordinary, everyday outfit. In Buddhist fashion, her hair is braided in 108 plaits, an auspicious number. This women of this family are finished working for the day. Pema, the young and delightful child, spoke about a special secret she had. She never did tell me what it was.
